Health, Safety and Environment Policy

1. OBJECTIVES
At RSW Inc., we recognize the importance of ensuring the health and safety of our employees and that of our customers, visitors, subcontractors, and contractors present at our offices and on work sites.

The purpose of the present policy is to specify RSW Inc.’s commitment regarding health and safety, both in its work environment and in its achievements, and to determine the responsibilities of the different parties.

2. COMMITMENT
RSW Inc. commits to providing a safe and healthy work environment for its employees, its customers and all other persons associated with the projects by implementing the following principles:

In its work environment, to:
• Take the necessary measures to ensure that its employees perform tasks which do not endanger their health, safety and physical integrity, as well as that of the others;
• Set up adequate means to eliminate the dangers, reduce and control the risks;
• Ensure that its operational activities are in conformity with the different regulations and laws in force;
• Establish suitable health and safety programs which apply to its employees present at the offices, on work sites and abroad;
• Ensure that its employees receive the relevant information and training in health and safety practices to perform their work;
• Facilitate the employees’ return to work after a sick leave and offer a temporary assignment program to help with their reintegration, as recommended by their attending physician;
• Establish protocols in the event of an emergency (fire, first aid, evacuation of the premises, etc.);
• Promote and maintain the development of health and safety principles by integrating them in its present and future decisions.

In its achievements, to:
• Develop technologies and sound and safe management practices;
• Design works and equipment that are safe;
• Establish in the engineering process a security review at all stages of the realization of the project.

3. HEALTH & SAFETY COMMITTEE
The Health and Safety Committee is composed of representatives from Engineering Management, Human Resources, Material Resources, Technical Services and Project Management.

The Committee’s initial mandate is to establish an action plan in order to attain the objectives set forth in this policy and to coordinate its implementation. The action plan is approved by RSW Inc. Management, which allocates the material, financial and human resources necessary for its implementation.

The Health and Safety Committee is responsible for recommending action programs necessary to the promotion of health and safety at work and the compliance with the laws and regulations in force.

4. RESPONSIBILITIES
RSW Inc. Management adopts the necessary guidelines to implement the present policy. The policy is under the responsibility of Engineering Management.

The department heads are responsible for promoting the compliance and application of this policy within their team. As well, the project managers must ensure policy compliance during the execution of the projects which they direct.

Health and safety principles at work are also the responsibility of all employees. Everyone must report any situation he deems dangerous and adopt safe behaviours in the execution of their tasks to protect their health, safety and physical integrity as well as those in the workplace.
